KOffice 1.4 Release Plan

The following is the outline for our KOffice 1.4 release schedule.

All dates given here are subject to revision, but we will try out best to stick to them if possible.

David Faure is acting as release coordinator for the KOffice 1.4 release

KOffice 1.4 will be released independently from KDE.

KOffice 1.4 Beta 1

April 11, 2005

The HEAD branch of KOffice is frozen : no new features, bugfixes commits only, no commit that modifies an application's behavior, and message freeze. This freeze will last till the release of KOffice 1.4!

April 18, 2005

KOffice is tagged KOFFICE_1_4_BETA1. Tarballs are made out of KOffice, for KOffice 1.4 Beta 1
They are made public immediately, and given to packagers for creation of binary packages.

April 25, 2005

Announce KOffice 1.4 Beta 1.

Documentation is frozen.

KOffice 1.4 Release Candidate

May 30, 2005

Last day for translations, icons and critical bugfixes commits.

May 31, 2005

Tag KOffice 1.4 RC1 (tags/koffice/1.4-rc1), create source packages.

June 1, 2005

Upload source packages to FTP server.

June 2, 2005

Announce KOffice 1.4 Release Candidate

KOffice 1.4 Final

June 14 2005

Tag KOffice 1.4 final version (tags/koffice/1.4.0). Test the tarballs.
This week is for packagers to create binary packages.

June 19, 2005

The source and binary packages are uploaded to ftp.kde.org to give some time for the mirrors to get them.

June 20, 2005

Create changelogs, update the website

June 21, 2005

Announce KOffice 1.4

July 19, 2005

Tag 1.4.1 in SVN Test the tarballs
This week is for packagers to create binary packages.

July 23, 2005

The source and binary packages are uploaded to ftp.kde.org to give some time for the mirrors to get them.

Create changelogs, update the website

Announce KOffice 1.4.1

KOffice 1.4.2

October 5, 2005
